Vocalist Mark Grandfield grew up in New Jersey and was exposed to a wide swath of American music. “My mother loved music and always encouraged me” Mark said “and my older sister listened to the British Invasion, Stax and Motown. We also had a bin full of Sinatra, Harry Belafonte, Nat Cole and Bing Crosby records” . Grandfield moved to NYC in the 1980s and became a successful session singer, performing on hundreds of jingles. He has collaborated with John Sneider, Adam Birnbaum, Danny Kortchmar, Tony Garnier, Jeff Golub and many others and is known for his unique, soulful takes on the American Songbook.
“Great songs, incredible treatments of the tunes and the production is beautiful. Grandfield makes the standards sound like blues, the blues sound like standards and infuses everything with this Ray Charles/Sinatra mashup that can only be described as Mark Grandfield.” Ben Cook, Pianist for the Boston Pops Orchestra
