Khailah Johnson is a triple threat. Coming to New York fresh off starring as Ladonna in the CW’s '4400' and then starring in the hit musical 'Romeo & Juliet' on Broadway, she finds balance and a resonance in jazz. She comes to Django after touring with Jeff Goldblum and the Mildred Snitzer Orchestra. Often described as having a ‘sound beyond her years, full of pain and history’ she flows through traditional jazz, blues and R&B influence. She finds a passion in intertwining acting jazz by using the music and language to evoke emotion and always tell a story. Inspired by voices such as Sarah Vaughn, Mel Torme, Etta James as well as current voices Allen stone, Jazmine Sullivan and Raye , she finds her own sound that is both reminiscent of the glamour and groove of traditional jazz and raw vulnerable musicality of today.
