A rising talent in the jazz world and a proud Philadelphia native, pianist and composer Joe Block has worked with acclaimed artists like Wynton Marsalis, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Leslie Odom Jr., Chris Potter, the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, and many others. He's an active sideman on both the New York and Philadelphia jazz scenes and leads his own trio and quintet. Hailed by Jazz at Lincoln Center as one of "jazz's most promising young composers," Block has written and arranged music for the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis, the Juilliard Jazz Orchestra, the Wynton Marsalis Septet, and the Jazz Orchestra of Philadelphia. He also appears on the 2020 Grammy-nominated record "The Intangible Between" by Orrin Evans and the Captain Black Big Band. Block currently lives in NYC and is a graduate of both Columbia University and the Juilliard School.
