Wednesday, May 22
10:30pm - 1am

A superb pianist/composer/ arranger born in Puerto Rico, Edsel Gomez is a Grammy award-winning virtuoso and a master at polyrhythms. He has the ability to sound relaxed when playing in the most complex time signatures, and conversely sometimes layers on so many rhythms that he can disguise the fact that he is playing in 4/4 time. Berklee Alumni '85, Gomez lived in Brazil for 10 years, relocating to New York in 1997 and has worked with many of today’s greats including, Don Byron, Jack DeJohnette, Willie Colon, Celia Cruz, Conrad Herwig, David Sanchez, Janis Siegel/Manhattan Transfer and a long association with Dee Dee Bridgewater.
