Austin Ford is a jazz trumpet player originally from Portland, Oregon, now based in New York City. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of North Texas, where he was a two-year member, arranger, and composer for the Grammy-nominated One O’Clock Lab Band. During his time in Texas, he also recorded his debut album Launchpad and performed with artists such as Maria Schneider, Gary Smulyan, and Tom Harrell. Austin went on to complete his master’s degree at the Manhattan School of Music, studying under Ingrid Jensen, Jon Faddis, and Scott Wendholt. He has been recognized in several prestigious competitions, including the ITG Carmine Caruso and Ryan Anthony Memorial Trumpet Competitions. Now an active performer in New York, he plays regularly at renowned venues around the city.
