Jazz Vocalist and curly redhead, April Varner, winner of the 2023 International Ella Fitzgerald Jazz Vocal Competition, has worked with a multitude of renowned artists at many of the city’s top jazz spots. These include Kurt Elling, Michael Feinstein, Walter Smith III, Tierney Sutton, Jane Monheit, Jean Baylor, Theo Bleckmann, Russell Malone, etc. Her EP, entitled “Hummingbird” is available on all streaming services. Her debut full-length album, featuring Benny Benack III, Reuben Rogers, Dayna Stephens and more is set to be released in June of 2024.
