Julieta Eugenio Quartet

Julieta Eugenio is a jazz tenor saxophonist, composer, and bandleader from Argentina based in New York City. She emigrated to the United States in 2013 and earned a master’s degree from Queens College, studying formally with Antonio Hart, among others. She studied privately with saxophonist Mark Turner and pianist Sam Yahel, and has performed with bandleaders including Johnny O’Neal, Eric Reed, Bertha Hope and Leon Parker.

Eugenio leads her own trio with bassist Matt Dwonszyk and drummer Jonathan Barber, and made her leader debut with 'Jump' on Dave Douglas' Greenleaf Music Record label in March 2022 with remarkable reviews from Jazz Times, Downbeat Magazine, WBGO, All Music Guide, The Boston Globe and more. The Julieta Eugenio Trio won the 2022 DCJazzPrix, an International competition presented by the DC Jazz Fest. Also in October 2022 Julieta was nominated by the Jazz Music Awards for Best New Artist.
